Where Are You Right Now?
How is That Working For You?
Ask Yourself Questions
Become the Change
In this second of a series of six articles, an International Change Coach will explain how self analysis using objective classification will help you to become the change you wish to see in your life. You will learn ways to improve so that you can create the success you dream about.
Step 2 - Self Analysis Of Where You Are Right Now
You can look more keenly into your initial awareness and self analyze it to see if you can classify what you are currently doing and whether that is working for you.
I love it when a client on the Dr. Phil show explains what is basically his right to be wrong, and Dr. Phil asks him “So how is that working for you?” Obviously, it isn’t working for him, or he wouldn’t be in trouble, nor would he be on the show.
This one simple question is a crucial tool for you to have in your tool box. Just asking yourself “So how is that working for you?” will allow you a keener, deeper insight – an analysis – of precisely how you think on a particular subject.
Another tool that I use is to ask myself “How would you objectively classify what you are thinking?” Objectively is the key point here. We frequently feel justified (that would be subjectively) about what we are thinking and feeling. Objective classification of our thoughts would be as if someone else were doing the classifying – let’s say a therapist or a scholar.
Objective classification will help us to see the mistakes we are making. You might think it’s an okay thing to pout when you have to do something, or to balk at having to do it. Subjectively, you might classify it as “things I don’t like to do.”
But objectively, someone else might classify that as immature. You might not like that “immature” classification, but if you can see that “What is, IS” and it is immature, you can then mature it. I hope you can see the value in objectively classifying the way you think, the way you habitually react, and the way you now justify your manner of being.
If you want to Become the Change, objective classification will help you. It’s a way of telling yourself more truth, and remember, it’s that truth that will set you free to become more of your fine self.
Learning self analysis will help you in all the steps to change your life. You cannot improve your life or create success without this step.
